About

Take a magical three mile return trip alongside beautiful historic Rudyard Lake in our victorian style narrow gauge steam trains.  They are the best way to see and access the Lake's attractions. There are 5 steam engines based at the railway and these are all in use pulling the trains. All our steam trains are normally pulled by real coal burning steam engines. The engines all have names linked to the tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

Special events, weddings, school trips and children's birthday parties can be booked.

We offer very popular learn to drive a steam train experiences throughout the year. Santa special steam trains are run in December each year.

Platform 2 Cafe

The cafe offers delicious hot and cold food and drinks together with snacks, scrummy soft-serve ice cream cones and tubs with assorted toppings.

Toilet, Catering facilities, boat rides available next to the Dam Station provided by Rudyard Lake Company.
