Weston Park is a historic house set within 1,000 acres of Capability Brown parkland on the Staffordshire and Shropshire border. Home to a world-renowned art collection, delightful Capability Brown pleasure grounds and one epic Woodland Adventure Playground for you to enjoy and explore.
Weston Park is owned and maintained by the Weston Park Foundation – an independent charitable trust. At Weston, every penny that is made keeps history alive – maintaining, restoring and conserving the estate for many generations to come.
The Park and Gardens
Weston Park is set within 1,000 acres of parkland including two of Capability Brown’s rare pleasure grounds: Temple wood and Shrewsbury Walk. Capability Brown designed the Temple Wood Pleasure Ground as a relaxing haven for the Bridgeman family. Within the woodland, visitors can enjoy a stroll, spot the wildlife, and see a host of historic sights.
Hidden in Temple Wood, you’ll find the Woodland Adventure Playground. With trampolines, swings, sandpits, climbing walls, slides and one of the country’s longest double zipwires, it’s fun for children of all ages. The Woodland Adventure Playground is also home to Weston’s Miniature Railway which invites visitors to take the 15-minute ride down into the enchanting Temple Wood.
The Walled Garden is four and a half acres and were built on the sheltered south facing slope with the walls dating from the late 18th century. Weston’s Walled Garden is now home to a yew hedge Maze, perfect for hours of endless, as well as growing a hearty harvest of fresh fruit and vegetables that are used in the Granary Restaurant.
Weston also had four different circular Wellbeing Walks around the estate, giving its visitors the chance to relax and enjoy the great outdoors.
The Granary Café is also open throughout Weston’s open season, serving homemade sandwiches, delicious coffees, and sweet treats.
The attractions at Weston Park include the House, Temple Wood, Walled Gardens, Woodland Adventure Playground, Miniature Railway, Rose Paterson Art Gallery, Gift Shop, and Restaurant.
The House and The Collection
Weston Park was gifted to the nation in 1986 and is now owned and maintained by the Weston Park Foundation. From the Front Hall, with its tribute to the 3rd Earl’s love of horses, the Victorian Library furnished with over 3,000 books, the unique Gobelin tapestries, specially commissioned for the House, to the stunning Dining Room, which houses one of the country’s most impressive collections of paintings including works by renowned artists such as Sir Anthony Van Dyck. The beauty and tranquillity of the House is the result of centuries of creativity, collecting and patronage of artists and craftsmen.
The House operates on a free-flow basis on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday throughout Weston’s opening season with specialist guided tours taking place throughout the year.
The Granary Restaurant
From hearty breakfasts to lazy lunches, the Granary Restaurant serves up delicious home cooked dishes daily.
Weston Park’s award-winning Head chef, Anna Jones and her brigade believe passionately in Weston’s ‘estate to plate’ ethos. The Granary Restaurant uses produce that is grown in Weston Park’s large Walled Garden and create seasonal menus in line with the harvest from the Walled Garden. This gives guests the chance to get at true taste of the Weston Park estate.
The Granary Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea daily and dinner on a Friday and Saturday evening.
Stay at Weston
Weston Park has six award-winning holiday cottages dotted around the 1,000 acres estate. A stay on the estate gives guests the chance to escape the everyday and enjoy the beauty of 1,000 acres of parkland, stunning views, tranquil walks and luxurious retreats to call home.
Formally a hunting lodge located on Knoll hill, The Knoll Tower, has been lovingly restored and is now a cosy hideaway for two. With a wood burning stove and panoramic views you can truly immerse yourself in the estate.
The Temple of Diana and its stunning Orangery gifts breath taking views over the Capability Brown landscaped parkland. Sleeping 6, the Temple is the perfect base for family or friends to spend precious time together.
Nestled down in Temple Wood, the Pink Cottage is the ultimate getaway for couples looking for romance. With its sugared almond colour scheme, deep sofas and free standing bath, the cottage is the perfect bolthole for escaping everyday life.
The Potting Shed and Gardener’s Bothy are nestled next to the Walled Garden. The Potting Shed, sleeping two, keeps its while washed walled and quirky features with all the home comforts you would expect. Formally a place for the gardeners to take a break and put their feet up, the Gardener’s Bothy sleeps two and has been lovingly transformed into a luxury bolthole on the estate.
The House at Weston also plays host to various Dine and Stay and Afternoon Tea’s in the Orangery throughout the year.

Opening Times
* During the Easter holidays and between June and the beginning of September the entire estate is open for visitors to enjoy from the House and its collections to the Woodland Adventure Playground.
During weekends in May, throughout September and weekends in October visitors can explore the park and gardens including Capability Brown’s Temple Wood and the Woodland Adventure Playground.
The Park and Gardens are open from 10:30am to 6pm with last admission at 4:30pm.
The House is open on a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday afternoon from 1pm to 4:30pm with last admission at 4pm.
