About
The historic Market Square has been the home for Lichfield markets since King Stephen granted the first markets charter in 1153. The Market Square has also been central to many scenes in Lichfield's history including the last person to be burned at the stake in 1612 - Edward Wightman was convicted of heresy.
The Market is on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. The Markets offer a wide choice of value for money products.
An established Farmers' Market also takes place every first Thursday of the month (except January) and boasts a wide selection of tempting fresh produce, locally grown, baked, brewed or pickled. Plus local art and craft stalls and seasonal demonstrations.
