The New Vic Theatre is the award-winning, professional repertory theatre for Staffordshire. They produce their own plays in a mixed programme that includes accessible classics, contemporary drama, musicals, family shows and the best touring productions.
The current building, opened in 1986, is famous as the first purpose-built theatre, in the round, in Europe. In an intimate 600 seater auditorium, the audience entirely surround the stage, the action is so close you could almost reach out and touch the actors.
They do their best to be family-friendly and children go free to many shows.
