Staffordshire’s biggest party is back!
Staffordshire’s biggest party of the year, Staffordshire Day, is back on Monday 1st May 2023 with a packed programme of events and activities to celebrate our beautiful, historic, and welcoming county.
Our theme for 2023 is Learn Something New, throwing the spotlight on the new skills you can pick up at our attractions, the incredible creativity which sets us apart from other counties, and the hidden gems and amazing secrets within our borders.
We’ll be announcing more in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on this page, and on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for details of how you can get involved.

Staffordshire Day Film Competition 2023
We’ll be putting Staffordshire in the spotlight once again, with the return of the Staffordshire Day Film Competition, sponsored by the Staffordshire Film Archive.
There are three categories - Best Documentary, Best 3-Minute Promo, and Best Animation - and the competition is open to all film-makers, whether you are professional or amateur, young or old.
All eligible entries must promote Staffordshire tourism and hospitality in some way, and be linked to this year’s theme, Learn Something New.

What is Staffordshire Day?
Staffordshire Day is the day we celebrate everything we love about Staffordshire.
Every year on May 1st, Staffordshire comes alive with events of all shapes and sizes across the county, and loads of competitions and special offers from our great attractions, restaurants, pubs, and hotels.
Whether you love our captivating countryside, our thrilling theme parks or our eye-opening history and heritage, there will be something for you on Staffordshire Day!
It is a very special day for us. May 1st is the anniversary of our most famous son, Josiah Wedgwood, setting up his pottery company in 1759 and helping to transform Staffordshire into the centre of the world’s ceramics industry.
Now that is something worth shouting about!
