Sir Arthur Nicholson presented the memorial to the town in memory of his son who was killed in action in Belgium 1915. At 90 ft high and with 4 clock faces, it is one of the largest memorials in the country.

Opening Details

Open all the time

Guided tours take place on the 3rd Saturday of each month from February to November. The tours last for 40 minutes with the first tour taking place at 10am and the last tour of the day starting at 12:30. There is no need to book except for large groups.
