Restaurants, pubs, brasseries, tearooms, visitor attractions and banqueting venues compete for these prestigious awards and are judged for quality and excellence, and particularly their use of locally produced ingredients.
All of the dining venues which entered the awards scheme are marked with the symbol 
in the main restaurant listing This shows that they have been visited by professionally qualified restaurant inspectors who judge all aspects of their visit including quality of food and drink, service, presentation and use of local produce.
