Exploring Temple Wood - Temple Wood is one of two naturalistic paradises created at Weston; the other being the Shrewsbury Walk. Temple Wood is a rare treasure and was laid out for the ‘pleasure of walking’ as Sir Henry and Lady Bridgeman would walk with guests.
Temple Wood is a classic of Brown’s work, showing the experienced landscape gardener working in a self-assured way to create what would have been a naturalistic garden paradise which would have engaged all the senses with pleasant vistas, scented shrubs, bird song and activities for human engagement.
