Harewood Cottage
Harewood cottage is situated in a pretty gated courtyard in the centre of the small Peak District village of Grindon which sits 1000ft above sea level. With private parking and a quaint secluded private garden with views over the Manifold valley a restful break far away from the madding crowd is guaranteed. Once a 16th Century stables Harewood cottage still retains the huge cruck beams making this a very atmospheric hideaway perfect for a romantic getaway, birthday celebration, honeymoon or for no reason at all! Wood is provided for the contemporary wood burning stove in the vaulted lounge four cosy winter evenings in, the kitchen is fully equipped for a self catering with the all important accessories, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker. The ground floor bathroom is equipped with bath and fabulous rain shower ( over bath) A winding staircase takes you through the mezzanine area to the double bedroom With bathrobes, fluffy towels and slippers all provided.
Little Barn
Little Barn is a stunning stone field barn in the heart of the Peak District National Park, situated at the end of a very pretty country lane Little Barn offers complete privacy and tranquility for those looking for a unique cool stay. Sitting on its own in a large field with uninterrupted views over The Manifold Valley and hills beyond with a wildlife pond close enough to sit and enjoy the sound of silence. Watch the morning sunrise over the valley on the private stone patio, logs and reindeer skins are provided to enjoy watching the sunset warmed by the Indian fire bowl, heaven!
The traditional stone exterior of Little Barn gives little away of the stunning contemporary feel as soon as you step inside. Every detail has been thought out to make this a relaxing stay to remember. I wont give too much away as this really is a unique cool stay!
Both Harewood cottage and Little Barn are situated in the pretty hill village of Grindon with miles and miles of scenic walks right on the door step, this really is a park your car, kick off your shoes and relax type of stay. If you do want to venture further afield Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth are all within a short drive.
Alton Towers is just 7 miles away.
There are a host of really good pubs within a few miles of Little Barn and Harewood Cottage details of which are left in the information booklets along with some great walks for the experienced and novice adventurers!
