Alton Towers Resort is preparing to deck the halls and trim the trees as it transforms into the ultimate Christmassy escape, with spectacular lights, festive entertainment, and seasonal treats.

From 27 November, families will be able to enjoy an exciting Festive Day Out with a wonderfully traditional Christmas market and selected rides and attractions, offering the perfect way to make magical memories with the family this Christmas.

In a charming, festive video released today by the park (Thursday 4th November), viewers join a family as they are transported through a magical door which leads them into the ultimate festive wonderland showcasing what’s in store this winter at the Resort.

Dressed in Alton Towers Christmas jumpers, the family explore the Christmas market, take a walk through CBeebies Land, The World of David Walliams and Mutiny Bay, before journeying through the four seasons of the magical and immersive Lightopia light and lantern festival, which will all be on offer this Christmas.

This year, for the first time ever, the Resort will be transforming its iconic Towers Street into a festive wonderland with over 60 Christmas market stalls, completely free for guests to explore.

From unique crafts, festive food, mulled drinks and more delightful surprises, guests can enjoy some Christmas shopping and revel in the twinkling lights, charming local stalls and fantabulous feel-good festive atmosphere.

Entry to the Christmas market is free (car parking charges apply) and guests will also have the chance to upgrade their visit buy purchasing a Festive Day Out ticket, which includes specially selected rides ideal for families, including CBeebies Land and Gangsta Granny: The Ride, meet joyful characters and take a stroll through the enchanting Alton Towers Gardens Lights Walk: Twinkling Stars.

New for 2021, Alton Towers Resort is also partnering with Lightopia to host Europe’s biggest light and lantern festival, Seasonal Wonderland, which will take guests on a magical and immersive journey through the four seasons with spectacular lanterns, stunning light installations, a magnificent water show and colour transformations. (Additional charge applies)

The Seasonal Wonderland trail will take guests on a magical 2.3km journey, with 120 different groups of lantern and light installations and over one million LED light bulbs, offering the ultimate multisensory experience.

This winter, Lightopia will bring never-seen-before, bespoke light installations, and for the first time ever, will showcase a state-of-the-art laser show that will dazzle guests with colourful illuminations, specifically designed for the UK’s biggest theme park.

Overnight stays are also available with the return of the family fave Santa’s Sleepover.

The festive package includes an overnight stay in one of the fantastically themed hotels, a visit to Santa’s Grotto, one day entry to the theme park, plus the brand-new Towers Christmas Market and the Gardens Lights Walk: Twinkling Stars, plus so much more.
