'Tis the season of love and there's nowhere better for a romantic treat than Staffordshire! Here are 14 ideas for the 14th, should you need some inspiration.

Valentine's Day at the Rollercoaster Restaurant

How about an evening at Staffordshire's quirkiest eaterie? The Rollercoaster Restaurant at Alton Towers Resort will definitely put you on the right track for romance! Enjoy a Valentine's Day like no other, including three fabulous courses for just £30 per person.

It's open to the general public and you don't need a theme park ticket to dine there at night.

Breakfast with Monkeys at Trentham Monkey Forest

If you can wait a bit longer, Breakfast with the Monkeys at Trentham Monkey Forest is an intimate and unique experience for animal lovers, as you visit the park before it's open to the public, helping feed the macaques and prepare breakfast for the next day.

The park reopens after Valentine's Day, on 16th February, so you won't be able to go on the day itself, but subject to availability you could go on any other day this year until it closes for winter in November.

Valentine's Day Afternoon Tea at World of Wedgwood

The Valentine's Day Afternoon Tea at World of Wedgwood offers the perfect romantic experience, with delicious scones, cakes and sandwiches on the finest Wedgwood china, not to mention unlimited tea!

For a truly unforgettable day, why not choose the Wedgwood Experience Day, which includes afternoon tea, pot throwing and ceramic design?

February Hurdle Raceday at Uttoxeter Racecourse

Looking for an unusual Valentine's experience this year? Look no further than the February Hurdle Raceday on Saturday 9th February at Uttoxeter Racecourse!

The Valentine's Package for Two includes a fabulous three course meal in the 1907 Suite, glass of bubbly on arrival and a great view of the racing, with six thrilling jump races lined up for the afternoon.

Craft Chocolate Tasting Evening with Seed Chocolate

Brewery Tour at Lymestone Brewery

Are you craft ale crazy or real ale romantics? Why not mark Valentine's Day with a look behind-the-scenes at Lymestone Brewery on 15th Feb?

Find out how the beers like Abdominal Stoneman, Lymestone Cowboy and Stone the Crows are made, and sample one or two yourself.

There's also a tasting at The Borehole, Lymestone's pub next door to their HQ, on the 14th.

Tasting Menu at The Boat Inn

Talking of tasting, you could head for the Taste of Staffordshire Independent Restaurant of the Year, The Boat Inn, which is hosting a six-course tasting menu on Valentine's Day, featuring oysters, lobster, and other delicious treats!

And there is a love-themed menu on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th too.

Totally Love at Totally Delicious

Also running throughout the week is Totally Love at Totally Delicious, Trentham Shopping Village (Friday 8th-Sunday 17th), with three stunning courses and a special Valentine's cocktail, along with live music on the 14th, 15th and 16th.

Why not head over early and top off your day with a romantic stroll around the lake and Italian Gardens at The Trentham Estate?

Valentine's Breakfast at Essington Fruit Farm

If you would prefer something at the beginning of the day, Essington Fruit Farm has a Valentine's Breakfast Special throughout the week (Monday 11th-Saturday 16th).

For just £12.50 per person, you can tuck in to Poached Eggs Benedict or the Farmer's Breakfast - with ingredients all sourced locally of course - plus toast, coffee/tea and even a glass of Bucks Fizz!

Valentine's at The Red Lion

If walking is your thing, you could head to The Red Lion, which has created three inspiring routes which take in local landmarks and points of interest, starting and finishing at the pub.

Once you've worked up an appetite, spoil yourself with a three-course Valentine's dinner, packed with locally-sourced produce and lovingly prepared by the award-winning chefs.

There's also a lunch option if you're looking for something lighter.

An intimate Italian feast at Pasta di Piazza

Or why not celebrate the most romantic day of the year with an Italian feast at Pasta di Piazza?

The three-course set menu, available at their sites in Newcastle and Stone, is all prepared on the premises using the finest Staffordshire ingredients (and specially imported from Italy if necessary).

With three courses for £29.95, there's great value for money on offer too.

Valentine's at Denstone Hall Cafe

The special Valentine's lunch at Denstone Hall Cafe is bound to be full of local ingredients too - they source most of them from the farm next door!

Polish off your meal with one of the range of craft beers and lagers from Staffordshire and Derbyshire, including Freedom Four from Freedom Brewery in Abbots Bromley and Rudyard Ruby Premium from the Staffordshire Brewery in Leek.

Eight courses at The Goldstone Hall Hotel

Surprise your special someone with a thoroughly indulgent and romantic eight-course tasting menu inspired by the garden at Goldstone Hall Hotel.

Savour an abundance of seasonal delights accompanied with award-winning fizz and fine wines, all in the candle-lit dining room.

An evening of extravagance at Swinfen Hall Hotel

Our round-up finishes at Swinfen Hall Hotel, the only restaurant in Staffordshire with three AA Rosettes, which is home to arguably our most extravagant Valentine's menu.

With a five-course tasting menu to work through, with log fires and twinkling chandeliers for company, and Champagne, canapes, petit-fours and coffee thrown in too, it's hard to think of a more intimate, romantic venue for the big night.
