Here's an easy way to get involved with Staffordshire Day (Wednesday 1st May) this year - the Staffordshire Day Mugshot!

What's that then?

As ever this year, there will be plenty of events on Staffordshire Day, but as it falls on a Wednesday, lots of you will be at work, so here's something you can do from your desk!

Just share an image of yourself enjoying the delights of a Staffordshire-made mug, like this one modelled by Richard.

This fine example is a Blue Calico, manufactured by Burleigh in Stoke-on-Trent, but there are loads of others to choose from.

You could go for an iconic pattern, like the Emma Bridgewater Polka Dot, Wedgwood's Wild Strawberry, or Spode's Blue Italian.

Or you could support an up-and-coming designer, like Stafford's Mandy Billington, as shown in the image of Rose below.

So I've taken my Mugshot, now what?

You're nearly there!

To be part of our huge celebrations, all you need to do now is post your photo on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, with the #StaffordshireDay hashtag.

Last year there were more than 5700 tweets with the hashtag, and #StaffordshireDay was trending on Twitter throughout the day.

At one point we were the the number one trending topic in the whole country!

Help us beat that this Staffordshire Day, Wednesday 1st May, and show your support for Staffordshire's wonderful and historic pottery industry!

What else is happening on Staffordshire Day this year?

In a word, plenty!

We've extended the celebrations to give you as much chance as possible to get involved. This year they will start on Saturday 27th April, and run all the way through to Monday 6th May - Bank Holiday Monday.

There's everything from a vintage market at the National Memorial Arboretum to the Staffordshire Plate Raceday at Uttoxeter Racecourse, while you can admire the awesome craftsmanship on a factory tour at World of Wedgwood, and go on a nostalgic journey at the Diesel Gala at Churnet Valley Railway.

The World's Biggest Oatcake Morning gives you the chance to tuck in to our famous local delicacy and raise funds for some good causes too. Find out more on our World's Biggest Oatcake Morning blog.
