Adventure & Outdoor
With many stunning backdrops in Staffordshire there is so much to choose from if you enjoy the Great Outdoors.
Unwind with a long-distance trek along The Staffordshire Way, or saunter along miles of greenways and towpaths.
Climb challenging gradients in the Staffordshire Moorlands and Peak District, or coast between delightful destinations on transformed old railway lines.
Take on the rocky outcrops of The Roaches, which provide rugged spaces for walking and cycling, and are well-known haunts for extreme sports like rock-climbing, abseiling and para-gliding.
Grab your cams and ropes and choose from almost 700 climbs, with routes for all abilities, including Valkyrie and the Perverted Staircase.
If you’d rather hang around on a high ropes course, Staffordshire is the UK hotspot.
Fly through the air on a zipline at Go Ape Cannock Chase, test your head for heights at Baggeridge Country Park, or brave the wires at Trentham Treetop Adventures and Planters Sky Trail Adventure.
There’s fun on wheels in Rage Buggies and go-karts at Midland Karting, on the race track in a Ferrari or Lamborghini at Driveme, and in your own super car in car club heaven at Curborough Sprint Course.
And there are the segways of Cannock Chase if you prefer life in a lower gear.
If you really want to slow the pace down, there are adventures on horseback at Cannock Chase Trekking Centre, on local lanes and bridleways across the county, or in the rowing boats on the lake at The Trentham Estate.
Set sail at Rudyard Lake and on the wakeboards at Chasewater Country Park, and explore our famous canal network in Stoke-on-Trent’s heritage canoe trail.
Hit the target with your clubs at our glorious golf courses, with a bow and arrow on an archery activity day at Ashcroft Park, and with the paintballs at NPF Bassetts Pole.
So get off the sofa and enjoy an adventure in Staffordshire!
