Ways to help you with your Business

Free Assistance for your Business - Funding Agreed

We aim to help you improve your bottom line through specialist coaching, workshops and masterclasses for your tourism business...

...whether it is learning from other businesses, making social media work for you, filling your quiet times, the BAD (Bookings, Arrivals and Departures) challenge, increasing visitor spend, tackling a long-standing issue with the help of an expert tourism adviser or seeking to grow your turnover or profitability, Destination Staffordshire Support for Tourism Businesses offers a great opportunity to help you grow your business.

We are pleased to confirm that we have had the ERDF funding confirmed so we are in the process of designing our Business Support syllabus.  We will send you an email to let you know when we are open for business.

ERDF funding will only cover funding for SMEs.  Please look at the terms of assistance to see if you are covered.

Terms

ERDF funding

ERDF stands for European Regional Development Fund which with the European Social Fund (ESF) and part of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) is funded by European Structural and Investment Funds. The funds are from the European Union for projects that create jobs and economic growth. We were able to gain further funding for our support programme until the end of 2019.

SME

SME stands for small or medium sized enterprise. Under the New SME definition from the European Commission (2.2.1) an establishment should have:

  • Turnover less £25 million
  • Gross Assets less the £12.5 million
  • Employ less than 250 (FTE) employees and that does not include apprentices.
  • The business can not be owned by a non-SME.

How to Tweet

Wikipedia defines Twitter as: "a website which offers a social networking /microblogging service, enabling its users to send and read other users' messages." It allows you to answer the question, "What are you doing?" by sending short messages - ‘tweets', to your ‘followers'.

It has become a marketing phenomenon amongst business, from international brands to small businesses.

The trick is to say what you want in a short amount of space - a maximum of 140 characters! Not as simple as it sounds but when it's done right it can be a very effective way of promoting your brand and getting your name out there.

So follow our steps to Tweet success...

Rural Funding Opportunities

Environment Secretary Andrea Leadsom announced funding boost for rural businesses across England. £120 million of funding will be made available to support farmers, grow businesses, and generate thousands of jobs in rural communities.

Rural and farm businesses will be able to apply for the next round of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) Growth Programme, which will help new businesses get off the ground and support existing companies to grow, develop new products and access new export markets.
