Open Every Wednesday & Saturday
Penkridge Market is your traditional local market. We open every Wednesday and Saturday from 9am to 3pm and host up to 100 stalls selling 1000s of products. We are a family run, independent market which is regularly described as one of the best markets in the area.
The market was established in 1978 and has become a defining feature of the village of Penkridge, attracting visitors from miles around.
Poultry Auction
Every Wednesday we hold an auction of poultry, eggs and garden sundries alongside the traditional stall market. This attracts visitors from far and wide and adds a fantastic atmosphere and vibe to the market.
Fine Food and Craft Market
On the third Saturday of each month, in addition to the traditional stall market we also host a specialist Fine Food and Craft Market with delicious food from local farmers and suppliers and beautiful hand-crafted items and gifts.
Bank Holiday Market & Car Boot Sale
Every Bank Holiday Monday throughout the Spring and Summer we run a bustling Market and Car Boot Sale on the site.
Children’s Market
Twice a year in the Spring and Autumn we run a specialist Children’s Market on the site. This event features a nearly new sale of children’s toys, clothes and equipment, trade stands, craft stalls, information on local children’s clubs, groups and services and lots of entertainment for the children such as fun fair rides, inflatables, petting farm, craft activities, donkey rides and more. Victorian Christmas Market
On the last Sunday in November we run a Victorian Christmas Market. This is an extremely popular event and features a wide range of craft stalls selling unusual Christmas gifts, traditional market stalls and plenty of entertainment including Santa’s grotto, carol singers, donkey rides, fun fair and more. The site benefits from being on hard standing and having undercover areas so we are able to run come rain or shine. In high winds when many stall markets close, we can continue to operate in the undercover areas.
Site Hire
In addition to the above events which we run ourselves the site is also available to hire. The site has been hired for Militaria Fairs, Antiques Markets, Car Shows etc.
