With Valentines Day only a few days away, we've scoured Staffordshire's best restaurants and found a handful with tables still available - but you'll have to act fast or you'll miss out!

Unforgettable racing and fine food

The Valentine's Package at Uttoxeter Racecourse is probably the most unusual option of the lot!

Enjoy the thrills of seven jump races followed by a memorable evening in the prestigious 1907 Restaurant.

Relax with a glass of bubbly on arrival and delicious three-course set menu, including succulent grilled sirloin of beef and decadent warm chocolate fondants.

All the while soaking in the wonderful panoramic views of the racecourse and the stunning Staffordshire countryside.

The Valentine's Package is £160 per couple, including Premier admission to the racecourse for the day's racing.

Escape with someone special

Escape from it all with A Romantic Getaway for Two at The George Hotel in Lichfield.

Quaff a refreshing pin gin cocktail on arrival, before choosing from the mouth-watering three-course dinner menu at the hotel's Darwin's Restaurant.

Re-energise with a stay in one of the characterful, traditional bedrooms and round it all off with a full English breakfast in the morning.

There is also a fixed price menu available at the Be My Valentine Dinner if you don't want to stay over.

The Romantic Getaway for Two package is £169 per couple, while the Be My Valentine Dinner costs between £33 and £38 per couple.

A charming setting offering quality and value

If roaring log fires and indulgent desserts sound like your ideal Valentines Day, look no further than The Stafford Arms in the Staffordshire Peak District.

Nestling on the outskirts of Leek, in the village of Bagnall, this historic 16th Century tavern combines the charming original features of the Stables Dining Rooms with the contemporary feel of the airy, spacious extension completed in December.

The inviting two and three course menus offer great value for money, and treats to savour like brown butter scallops and chocolate covered strawberry brownies.

Prices range from £40 to £64 per couple.

Tantalising treats in a stylish brasserie

For more modern fine dining, try the Valentine's Day Dinner at The Swan Hotel in Stafford.

The building may go back to the mid-1700s, featuring in the writings of various authors including Charles Dickens, but there's nothing dated about the stylish decor or the enticing menu.

Treat your special someone to a three course Valentine's spectacular, with a selection of appetising entrees, satisfying main courses and naughty desserts to devour.

The Valentine's Day Dinner is priced at £80 per couple.

A beautiful backdrop for a romantic occasion

You'll find total peace and tranquility, not to mention gourmet fine dining, at Moddershall Oaks near Stone.

Open your evening in style with a glass of rose prosecco on arrival, followed by the tempting four course menu and precious quality time with your Valentine.

How about the citrus smoked salmon or crispy duck egg to start, followed by a palate-cleansing sorbet, and the fillet of seabass or vegetable Wellington?

And make sure you leave room for the heavenly assiette for dessert - a delectable combination of dishes packed with mousse, chocolate and caramel.

The Valentine's Fine Dining Experience is priced at £89 per couple.
