10 Reasons to visit Staffordshire in 2017
We had another great 12 months for tourism in Staffordshire!
Staffordshire celebrated its 1000th birthday with the very first Staffordshire Day, with events around the county attended by thousands.
So we had a busy year, but 2017 promises to be even busier! Here are 10 reasons to come to Staffordshire next year.
New CBeebies Hotel
The new CBeebies Hotel at Alton Towers Resort opens in the summer, with themed rooms, meet and greets with CBeebies characters, and more!
They're also working on a new rollercoaster, and will start building it later this year, although it won't be open until 2018.
There are other proposed developments in Stoke-on-Trent, Leek, Gailey (South Staffs) and the Churnet Valley too, and we expect to hear more about them early next year.

The expansion of the shopping village at The Trentham Estate, due for completion in summer 2017, will bring 26 new shops to explore.

In the 20th birthday year of the National Memorial Arboretum, near Lichfield, there will be an official opening of the fabulous new Remembrance Centre.
Work on a new designer outlet village in Cannock, featuring up to 130 stores and restaurants, should begin in Autumn 2017, with an expected opening in Spring 2019.
Events for Everyone to Enjoy
Stoke-on-Trent will be trumpeting its cultural heritage, with a programme to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of author Arnold Bennett, and British Ceramics Biennial showcasing the pottery industry.
And Staffordshire Day will be back on May 1st with loads of events, offers and competitions!
