Lavender Cottage is a character self catering holiday cottage with a Log Woodburner for cosy evenings spent by a roaring log fire!

Situated in the historical part of the beautiful village of Alton, just behind the turrets of Alton Castle, this quaint little cottage can be found on a quiet country lane but within walking distance of the Village Shops, Post Office, Churches, Historical Monuments and several good Pubs and Restaurants.

The Staffordshire Peak District offers you all the excitement of the Alton Towers Resort and lovers of the outdoor life can head for natural playgrounds that include The Roaches and the Staffordshire Moorlands. Discover bustling market towns such as Leek and Uttoxeter or head to the world capital of ceramics, Stoke-On-Trent.

The National Trust features locally with Biddulph Grange, Calke Abbey, Chatsworth, Dovedale, Ilam Park, Sudbury Museum of Childhood all within a few miles drive.

By public transport: From Uttoxeter 7 miles. Bus to Alton. By car: M6, Junction 13. From A50 at Uttoxeter follow B5030 signs to Alton Towers. Entering Alton Village from North turn left at top of winding steep hill into High Street, past Bull's Head Hostelry, cottage is up hill on your left. If entering village from South turn right at Alton Village Hall into Hurston's Lane, at bottom of country lane turn left into Town Head, Lavender Cottage on right just before sign to Alton Castle.

  • Please note the ground floor has quarry tiled flooring and a large inglenook fireplace. A Fireguard is available and should be used at all times when the Woodburner is in use. There are stepped stairs on the landing to the Bathroom, Dressing Room and Bedroom which are not suitable for Babies or crawling Toddlers. Access to the Bathroom is through the Dressing Room area.
