Feeding the lambs

Feeding the lambs

Experience life on a farm just as it was in 1805 with milling demonstrations, cheesemaking, baking and farm cooking demonstrations, agricultural exhibits and lots of animals to enjoy. Plus Sweet shop, play par and more

Georgian dairymaids, miller and authentically dressed farm staff welcome you to the Farmstead, built by world famous architect Samuel Wyatt and celebrated across the country as the perfect country house farm. Our maids will show you the very latest technology (early 19th century!) in our dairy where butter and cheese is produced. Our Georgian miller will gladly show you his pride and joy – the only working water mill of its kind in the country. Rare and historic breeds of livestock, some rarer than the Giant Panda, roam the parkland just as they did 200 years ago.
