Details

Lichfield Cathedral houses a number of treasures: the 8C illuminated St Chad's Gospels; a medieval tiled floor in the Library; the 16C Heckenrode windows of the Lady Chapel; sculptures by Sir Francis Chantrey and Sir Jacob Epstein and the Lang Lichfield Collection of modern silver. A standard group tour provides an insight into the history, architecture and use of the Cathedral, led by our own trained guides and available for groups of 12 or more (Mornings 10:00-12:00 or Afternoons 14:00-16:00). An evening tour (by candlelight in winter) can also be arranged. Evening tours cost £5.25 per person. A special tour gives a brief introduction to the history of the Cathedral and then provides in-depth insight into a chosen topic or area (e.g. The life of St Chad, Stained Glass, Roof Tour etc).

Catering can be arranged for your party, from a cup of tea or coffee to a full meal. Please ask for menus. Access for the disabled to all areas except Library and roof. Special facilities for visually impaired visitors.
