The Leek to Rushton Spencer Greenway is a pleasant rural route running from Woodhouse Road near the centre of Leek. It is an excellent family cycle route. The Rushton Spencer section from the Knott Inn to Beat Lane Car park is open to horses. You can enjoy a lovely stroll along the North West shore of Rudyard Lake famed as a Victorian holiday destination and its links with Rudyard Kipling.

At Rushton Spencer The Knott Inn offers refreshments and meals and children’s play area. There is a circular route of the lake utilising the Green Way and public footpaths.
