Details

The village lies at the terminus of the former narrow-gauge 'Leek & Manifold Valley Light Railway', which opened in 1904 the track of which has been turned into a walk/cycle route.

The old station building has been beautifully restored and is now a visitor centre with car park and toilets. The old engine shed has been converted into an interesting and unusual tea shop.

Hulme End is located on the B5054 just south of Hartington. It can be accessed from either the A515 between Buxton and Ashbourne, or the A523 between Leek and Ashbourne.
