Geoff Archer was born in Manchester in 1945 but has lived in Macclesfield for over forty years. In the late nineties he turned from images of the urban landscape to drawings and paintings of rocks – close-up details with a concentration on pattern, colour, tone and texture.
The work in this exhibition presents responses both to local, Peak District rocks and to landscapes further afield, most notably that of the western United States.
