Activities and walks for children, led by Richard Thorpe, the Arboretum's Volunteer Wildlife Officer. The sessions are always great fun and there is a lot to discover at the Arboretum where wildlife is abundant.

Please ensure that children are dressed for outdoor activities.

The sessions are:

16 July - Insects - looking for dragonflies, damselflies, bees and butterflies in a beautiful wild flower meadow.

20 August - Mini Beast Hunt - as well as lots of birds and mammals the Arboretum is home to many mini beasts, our Wildlife Watch Group will be going on a mini beast hunt to see how many types of insects they can find.

17 September - Harvest Bonanza - will be collecting fruit and nuts from trees and shrubs in the Arboretum to create a harvest bonanza.

15 October - Furry Creatures - Under the guidance of the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust we will be catching some of the mini creatures who like to call the Arboretum home – all animals will be returned safely back into the wild after the spotting session.

19 November - Woodland Shelters - making shelters from materials found in our woodland areas.
