Limited bus connections from Ashbourne. Stoke and Derby stations both 20 miles away. From Ashbourne take the A515 towards Dovedale and Ilam. SatNav will send you wrong from Ilam, so follow these directions please. Go through Ilam bearing right, go past school on right. After 100 yards turn LEFT on a corner to Throwley and Castern. At the bottom of the lane, over cattle grid and FORK LEFT alongside a river, over cattle grid again and Rushley farm is ahead. Do not follow the road to the right, but go straight on and the drive to The Orchards is on the right.
