From Uttoxeter follow the B5031 to Rocester/Alton towers. Go past the JCB factory on the left then turn left at the roundabout. Go over the roundabout then turn left onto Denstone Lane (B5032). Follow this road bypassing Denstone into the village of Alton. Turn right at Uttoxeter road, follow the road and go past the Londis shop on the left. Turn right going along the high street. Turn second left (castle hill) and Alton Castle is at the end of this road.

Nearest railway station is Uttoxeter. Alton is on the bus route from the local towns of Uttoxeter and Cheadle.
